2. Who can use the site
The site is not directed to children under 13. If you are under 18, you may register for events only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
3. Our content
The stories, photos, graphics, logos, design, and other content on the site belong to us or to the people who license them to us, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read and share links to our content for personal, non-commercial use. Don't copy, republish, or sell our content without written permission. The Life in New York City name and marks are ours; don't use them in a way that suggests we endorse you.
4. What you send us
If you send us story tips, photos, event listings, partner information, comments, or other material, you confirm that you have the right to share it, and you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, edit, publish, and display it on the site, in our newsletter, and on our social channels, with credit where practical. We may decline or remove any submission. Don't send us anything confidential.
5. Community
Our community lives on external platforms, such as a Facebook Group or a separate forum service. Your use of those platforms is governed by their terms (for Facebook, Meta's Terms of Service) and by our posted group rules. Be respectful. We may remove posts or members who break the rules. Views posted by members are their own, not ours.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: break the law; post anything defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights; send spam or unauthorized advertising; try to hack, overload, or disrupt the site; scrape or harvest data from the site in bulk; or impersonate anyone.
7. Events
Event listings are provided for information. Some events are organized by us and many are organized by others; dates, times, and details can change, so confirm with the organizer. If you register or buy tickets through the site, any terms shown at registration or checkout also apply. You attend events at your own risk and are responsible for following the venue's and organizer's rules.
8. Links, affiliate relationships, and sponsored content
The site links to other websites we don't control, and we aren't responsible for their content, products, or policies. Some links are affiliate links and some placements are sponsored; see our Affiliate Disclosure.
9. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we'll email you stories, events, and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
10. Information only
Our content is for general information and entertainment. It isn't professional, legal, financial, medical, or safety advice. We try to be accurate, but things change quickly, and we don't guarantee that everything on the site is complete or current.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Enterprise Digital Management LLC and its owners, team, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the site, events, community platforms, or linked sites. Our total liability for any claim related to the site will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
13. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Enterprise Digital Management LLC against claims arising from your submissions or your violation of these terms or the law.
14. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, email support@lifeinnewyorkcity.com with a description of the work, where it appears on our site, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized. We'll review it and remove material where appropriate.
