Life in New York City
About us
Life in New York City is an independent local publication about the five boroughs: the history under your feet, the places worth your time, and what's changing in the city.
Our Facebook community is where a lot of our story ideas start. This site is where those stories get the room, sources, and detail they deserve.
What we cover
- History & culture: the stories behind the places you pass every day.
- Things to do: parks, walks, day trips, and events, with the practical details.
- Guides: getting around, planning a visit, and living here.
- Current events: local changes explained plainly.
How we work
- Our stories are written by our staff and checked against primary and official sources where we can. Sources are listed in each story.
- Every story shows the date it was published. If we update something, we show that date too.
- If we get something wrong, we fix it. Send corrections through our contact page.
- Some links may earn us a commission, and featured partner placements may be sponsored. We label them.
